Botanical Meditations, a group exhibit exploring the flora and fauna of California’s Central Coast, opens Friday April 11th at the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts. A reception for the artists will be held April 11th from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Monterey County High School Poetry Awards

 

Established in 1996 to recognize and promote excellence in high school poets and to develop an interest in creative expression through language, the Monterey County High School Poetry Awards were created as a collateral program to Thinking Out Loud, the Carl Cherry Center's annual high school art exhibit. The Awards Ceremony will be held at 2pm, Saturday, April 26th at the Monterey Public Library.

"Facts and Figures"

 

A theater production and art installation brings together figurative works on stage and in exhibition this summer at the Carl Cherry Center. Figure and Ground, an exhibit exploring the human form, will be paired with Lorraine Olsen’s riveting one-woman show, “Figuratively Speaking” beginning Friday, June 6th at the Cherry Center. Ms. Olsen will also pose for a life drawing session on Saturday, June 7th from 11 a.m.– 2 p.m.

 

A reception for the artists will be held Friday, June 6th from 5 – 7 p.m. The opening reception is free and open to the public. The exhibit can be seen through July 18.
