The Cherry Center for the Arts showcases diverse visiting artists in year-round gallery exhibits. The majority of exhibits are curated by the Cherry Center and range from historical to contemporary art, including painting, photography, ceramics, assemblage and sculpture.

The Cherry emphasizes emerging and experimental artists from the Monterey Bay area, with regional and community shows, and exhibits generated by theme. Dedicated to fostering curiosity and artistry in young people, the Cherry Center hosts an annual high school art exhibit, celebrating the talent of area high school students, and sponsors the annual Monterey County High School Poetry Awards.

Open 11:00 to 4:00 PM Monday-Friday, and by appointment. All exhibits are presented free of charge. Donations gratefully accepted.

Joseph Campbell
The Artist's Way

April 19th - May 31st, 2013

Here we see the many elements Campbell found essential to creation: research notes and reference books, yes, and also artistic images, ceremonial artifacts, and other objects that work on the imagination. Myth, in Joseph Campbell’s world, is far more than just words on a page.
